What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric therapy is a medical treatment which enhances the body's natural healing process by inhalation of 100% oxygen in a total body chamber, where atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled. It is used for a wide variety of treatments usually as a part of an overall medical care plan.

Cancer
"In January 2006 my husband Sunny Leskovic was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma, a form of lung cancer. He was started with Chemo treatments immediately. The chemo treatments were brutal and his body could handle no more. During this time, he was twice daily taking the Essiac 4 herb cancer tea. We believe this to be very beneficial as there is much testimonial on its use. My husband and I believe there are other avenues of help in addition to standard treatments. It was during this period that a friend of ours told us about Hyperbaric treatments. We then realized this is what the W. Va.miner was given after this ordeal and that it was very instrumental in his recovery. In addition, a friend of ours who is into health told us that cancer cells cannot live in an atmosphere which is oxygen rich. We decided to give it a try. This is one of the best decisions we believe we have made. Sonny started out several times a week, as he was too weak to drive more than that. (I work) He gradually increased to 4 and 5 times a week and what a difference it made. The color and tone of his skin was the first visible sign. Family and friends started noticing the change and commenting on it. Since that was the only thing we had added, it was apparent to us that it was making a difference. Sonny's energy level grew in leaps and bounds. He has started his 5th series and intends to continue. The last check up at the Doctors indicates the cancer remains dormant. His last chemo treatment was April 28th, it is now September. He will be monitored by his doctor every month to 6 weeks. We are anxious for his next CAT scan and we believe the cancer in addition to being dormant will show signs of shrinkage."

"I was first introduced to the hyperbaric chamber in August 2011 just a few short days after surgery to repair my bicep tendon. My arm was swollen twice the size and Dr. Boyd suggested I spend 2 hours in the chamber. When I got out of it, my arm was back to normal size. As a 13 year veteran in the NFL playing as a strong safety I have a lot of wear and tear on my body. On top of that I am about to begin my 12th season as a back judge official in the NFL. Each week I run about 8 miles during an NFL game and only have one week for my body to recover for the next week. I have found the chamber to expedite healing and repair to my body. I purchased one in November 2011 and I have not had joint or muscle pain since I began a regular schedule in the chamber. I am 59 years old and usually spend 5-8 hours in it a week. I also have not had to deal with leg cramps during a game since using the chamber. I have also found I have more energy and feel rested since I have begun using it. I encourage you to learn more about the healing and health you can receive by using the chamber. I know it has changed my life and improved my health and I feel it will keep me on the NFL field longer as a result. Autism
"Both Will (age 5) and Josh (2 ½) have autism. Mother Myra was searching for all the pieces of her boys’ complex puzzle, and she found hope through the hyperbaric therapy center. Josh was completely non-verbal. After his very first session in the hyperbaric chamber, he said his first word: “keys”. Now he just functions like any other 2 year old, talking all the time. Will now gets all green cards at school! (green= great behavior, Yellow= not so good behavior, Red= very bad day) He has a real imagination now, and is learning to play peacefully with his sister Sarah"

Autism
"Savannah weighed only one pound at birth and by age two had undergone 7 surgeries and been in a coma twice. Her parents were told by doctors to “prepare for the loss” of their child. Savannah has been involved in multiple therapies and most recently added mild hyperbaric therapy. Previous therapy had shown some improvements but Savannah had hit a plateau in her progress. In just a few short months Savannah has become much more vocal. She talks almost constantly now and when she’s not talking, she’s singing. "Savannah used to avoid making eye contact unless directed; now she will voluntarily make eye contact and initiate conversation, usually because she’s asking for something. She’s even shown us lately that she has a sense of humor." Her progression at school is so noticeable in fact that they have re-evaluated her placement."

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe?
YES! The hyperbaric chamber uses filtered ambient air, so there is no risk of oxygen toxicity to the body even with regular use. The chamber can be depressurized and opened from the inside. Once inside the chamber, both visual and verbal communication is possible with the outside. Most people report a comfortable, relaxing experience and emerge from the chamber feeling refreshed. This therapy is non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical, and there are no dangerous side effects.
Why does it work?
Henry’s Law of Physics: An increase in atmospheric pressure allows for more gas to be dissolved into any given liquid. Oxygen, the 8th element on the Periodic Table, exists as a gas at room temperature. The human body is composed almost completely of water. Gas … under pressure … dissolves in water
Are there any side effects?
No dangerous side effects have been reported with Mild Hyperbaric Therapy. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when preparing for your first session in a chamber: Some people experience a mild discomfort to the ears when pressurizing the chamber and some people following their first few sessions experience slight fatigue as the body sweeps itself clear of toxic debris that has built up in the body.
